Nancy Heimsoth
Teacher
Grades 4-5
Hi! |
My name is Nancy Heimsoth, and if you are wondering, I am the pastor’s wife. I became a part of the St. Peter family when we moved here in 1987, but I did not begin teaching here until the fall of 2001. Prior to that, I was committed to taking care of our three children and using my gifts in a variety of ways in the congregation. When St. Peter made the commitment to expanding the school ministry by adding a third teacher, I felt led by God to make myself available. Others must have agreed, as I was offered the position and have enjoyed the challenges of teaching since. |
I grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. My commitment to Christian education came early as I attended a Lutheran Christian day school and a Lutheran high school. My parents sacrificed a lot to make this possible for me and my three siblings. I believe it was worth it. I still do. |
I earned an A.A. degree from St. Paul’s College, in Concordia, Missouri (where I met Jeff) in 1977 and a B.A. degree in business and elementary education in 1980. Jeff and I were then married after which I taught business courses at a Lutheran high school in the Washington D.C. area for two years. Then Jeremy was born in 1983 followed by Erika in 1987 and Emily in 1989. I left teaching to focus on family. 18 years later I picked up the planning books, entered the classroom and have not looked back since. I thank God for the children who challenge me and brighten my life every day. |
